Worm and Wheel
Use the Worm and Wheel node for 3D components to create a connection between a Worm Gear and a Helical Gear or a Spur Gear in such a way that at the contact point they have no relative motion along the line of action. The remaining displacements and rotations of both the gears are independent of each other.
When Friction is included on a Worm and Wheel node, frictional forces in the plane perpendicular to the line of action are added on both the gears.
Gear Selection
Select Worm and Wheel from the list of gears. You can select any Worm Gear in the Worm field and any Helical Gear or Spur Gear in the Wheel field.
See Gear Pair for the following settings — Sketch, Line of Action, Gear Pair Properties, and Contact Force Computation.
In this node, there are no settings for Contact Model. The Configuration is always Neither parallel nor intersecting and the Contact model is always set to the Point contact.
In this node, the Include friction option is selected by default, and a Friction subnode is thus added.
